Missouri Spring weddings are a thing of beauty, the surrounding landscape seems to gather around the wedding couple with families and friends. But, how do you make the most of a Missouri Spring Wedding?

We have seen a number of weddings in every season. No season is the perfect season to get married; each has its own set of pros and cons. But, we have seen many smart couples utilize the seasons’ gifts to their wedding’s advantage. So, we are going to highlight some ways to make your wedding feel uniquely Missouri and uniquely Spring.

A great way to add a personal touch to your Missouri Spring wedding is to use the Spring flowers that are in season. There are so many beautiful, native Missouri flowers that pop up right when the wedding season starts. Your florist will have a good idea of what is in season, which flowers stay alive without water, and how much can be bought vs how much can be foraged. If your florist has experience with foraging native flowers, this could be a great addition to the overall feeling of your wedding. Not to mention, sometimes foraging flowers can be less expensive than buying all your flowers wholesale. Just make sure to adjust the budget for the time and labor it would take to forage.

Cater with Seasonal Foods

The start of a Missouri Spring also marks the maturation of seasonal produce. Seasonal ingredients are great to use for your catered Spring wedding because they are naturally delicious, easier to find, and less expensive than out-of-season ingredients. For Missouri Spring, asparagus, green onions, arugula, radishes, herbs, and much more are in season. When looking for caterers, try to find a company that prioritizes seasonal ingredients and talk to them about working these into your wedding meal.

Utilize Bright, Spring Colors

Another benefit of a Spring wedding is the colors that are in season. Bright pinks, deep greens, and even purple pastels can be a part of the color palette for the wedding. This is great news for couples who love color and want the flowers and accents to pop in the photos. This also makes it easy when deciding on bridesmaids’ dresses as well. Spring weddings give both color options and style options. One Spring bride might choose a midi lavender dress while another might choose a long, forest green maxi dress for the bridesmaids.

Take Photos with the Venue’s Seasonal Blooms

If your wedding is outside or has any potential outdoor photo spots, utilize the Missouri Spring as a backdrop or accessory for your wedding photos. Natural tree blooms, or hydrangea bushes can make your wedding photos beautiful and unique. Light pink flowers or tulip patches can brighten and add some beautiful pops of color to your wedding photos.

Use Accessories in Case of Chill

While Spring is a beautiful month to get married in Missouri, it is not always the most predictable season. Make sure, especially if the wedding is outside, to have a backup plan for the bride and the bridesmaids. Any outfit that has the potential to be chilly should have a backup piece. This piece could be a shawl, sleeves that go with the dress, mismatching cardigans for pictures, etc. Whatever your backup piece is, ensure it is ready for use the day of!
